Soon private universities might sprang up in Hyderabad, as Telangana government has given its nod to set up private universities.
Though it might take more time for private universities to set up shop in the state, Telangana Government has a formed a cabinet sub committee under the leadership of Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Kadiyam Srihari to formulate rules and regulations for setting up of private universities in Telangana. The decision in this regard was taken at the cabinet meeting held in Hyderabad on Saturday.
IT and Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao, Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, former chief secretary Rajiv Sharma are members in the cabinet sub committee formed to formulate the guidelines for setting up of private universities.
Hyderabad is a vibrant place for education and if Telangana government gives nod to private universities, then many new private universities might take born in the city.
On the other side several student organisations and activists have been protesting against government for taking steps to introduce private universities, saying thatit will further commercialise education.
