Aged couple of Mumbai urge President for right to die

A childless elderly couple of Mumbai has approached the President of India seeking euthanasia ( mercy death) voluntarily at a time.

Narayan (88) retired after working in Maharashtra state transport and his wife Iravati(79) also retired as a school principal. Both live in Thakurdwar of Mumbai since last few years after retirement. It is their wish to also die together.
In their ethunasia application before President, they appealed that they don’t want to leave one another either with sickness or as dependents on others.

They appealed that just as it is a fundamental right to live, they wanted a fundamental right to die on their own will.
