Heavy rains in Hyderabad, roads chocked with Immersion garbage

All of a sudden climate of both Telugu states has changed. Till last week it was hot and humid weather. Today as people woke up in the morning to see a cool and overcast weather. It has been drizzling in outskirts of twin cities. Met department officials have warned of heavy showers with thunderstorms. for the next 48 hours. Cities of Vijayawada, Guntur, Machilipatnam have also received heavy showers.

Dilsukhnagar, Chaitanyapuri, Kothapet, Uppal, Ramanthapur, LB Nagar, Vanasthalipuram, Hayathnagar, Abdullapurmet, Ramoji Film City area have been raining heavily since morning. Heavy and dark clouds have covered the sun and motorists had to resort to headlights and city administration kept street lights on.

Adding to the horribly spoilt roads of twin cities, rains have further deteriorated the traffic conditions. Further yesterday’s Ganesh Immersion procession has piled up Tonnes of garbage on all roads making roads slippery and dangerous.

GHMC officials and sanitation teams are struggling hard to cleanse roads and drains.
