Mercury rises ,Water levels dip in Telangana

Hyderabad is already boiling at 40-degree Celsius this year and likely to touch 43 average in this summer months of April-May-June,

According to IMD Hyderabad, the maximum temperatures had crossed 41 degree Celsius for the first time this summer. The usually bustling Secunderabad-Punjagutta stretch, Banjara Hills-Madhapur stretches were near empty with motorists deciding to stay indoors and protect themselves from the hot weather conditions.

Mercury wavered between 40-42 in other interior districts of Telangana like Adilabad, Mahabubnagar, Nizamabad, and Ramagundam and overall temperature is averaging to 40 plus for the season.

IMD says the fall in groundwater levels had already led to drying of 60% of 23-25 lakh agricultural bore wells in the state and causing huge drinking water issues in north Telangana districts and govt program of reaching drinking water needs to district towns and villages through mobile tankers is a non-starter.
