National women parliament emerge as biggest conclave of women in country


The three day women national women parliament first of it’s kind in the country organised at Pavitra Sangamam near Vijayawada won the appreciation from one and all. Thousands of students used the three day conference to air their views on the need for women empowerment.

The Andhra Pradesh Government took initiative to make success the international event. Though invitations extended to ten thousand women nearly 22,000 women right from Jammu and Kashmir to Kerala and abroad attended the conference.

An engineering students Lakshmi Priya of Anantapur said that she was lucky enough to participate in the world class women conference. She showered praises on the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and AP Assembly Speaker Kodela Sivaprasad Rao for the arrangements.

Without confining the conference to lectures of eminent women, the organisers took initiative to give scope to girl students to air their views on women empowerment. Majority of the students including from rural areas are seen rushing towards the dais to air their views without any fear. At one stage the bold statements and innovative thoughts of students impressed the guests on the dais.

The state government organised the event in such a way that no one witnessed such a conference before.
The venue of the conference on the banks of Krishna river greeted the delegates including young girls with cool winds. After day long session the delegates enjoyed the pleasant atmosphere. Amaravati international music and dance festival was performed on the floating dais and the second dais on the river bank.

The event manager Venkateswar A of Avens Expositions Pvt Ltd said that the main conference hall is the first biggest conference hall in the country with a seating capacity of 14000 delegates including 1500 VIPs. The Aluminium hanger was raised covering two lakh sq ft, 50 metres width and 400 mts length, which was the biggest in India. He said 3000 tonnes air conditioners were set up for the comfort of delegates.

He said that the front elevation was developed with a length of 380 feet and 38 ft height. Generators were set up with 8000 kva to provide uninterrupted power supply.

A biggest dais was developed with 3D Budhist stupa in the background with moving clouds atop the stupa. In addition 120 ft LED screens were set up on both sides of the dais for the convenience of delegates.

In addition to the main conference hall a food court was erected with a capacity of 10,000 guests. A separate food court was arranged for VIPs. The organisers set up sufficient wash rooms to prevent inconvenience to the delegates.
A festival atmosphere prevailed at the conference venue right from 9 a.m to 10.30 p.m daily with continuations of sessions and groups discussions till 5 p.m and music programmes from 5.30 p.m to 10.30 p.m.

Besides, the organisers set up Dwcra bazaar stalls, which attracted majority of the delegates with hand made products.

The state government took initiative to provide free transport and acoommodation to the delegates including thousands of students.

All the delegates including young and old expressed happiness over the arrangements at the conference venue including conference hall and food arrangements and returned with a sense of self confidence with the motivation of speakers on women empowerment.
