Telangana IT, Municipal Administration, Industries Minister KT Rama Rao has set a good example by wearing handloom clothes on Monday.
KTR normally wears branded shirts and pants, but on Monday he wore handloom clothes. The reason for young leader wearing handloom clothes on Monday, was to give a fillip to the handloom industry in Telangana.
Just a week ago, KTR launched ‘Chenetha Lakshmi’ program. The aim of the program is to encourage government employees to wear handloom clothes at least once in a week. This was meant to provide business to handloom industry and livelihood to handloom weavers in Telangana.
“There are four lakh government employees in Telangana. If all these employees wear handloom clothes at least once a week, then it would create good business to struggling handloom sector,” said KTR explaining about the initiative. He urged all government employees to wear handloom clothes every Monday.
To set an example, KTR himself came in handloom clothes on Monday. Several IAS officials also wore handloom clothes on Monday.
