Social media giant Facebook has deleted Ten thousands of dangerous apps. Facebook explained that many of these apps were in the testing phase and some were completely unavailable, although this did not pose a threat to users’ internal security. Altogether 10 thousand applications belonging to 400 developers have been deleted.
Facebook took this step following the Cambridge Analytica controversy that emerged last year. Facebook also revealed that it has also deleted the application program interface, which is likely to be known to app developers, such as users’ personal information. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has fined Facebook five billion dollars in the Cambridge Analytica case. Facebook made this decision in the wake of this.
