Kannada actor Rishab Shetty has become a major name in the South Indian film industry after the huge success of Kantara. The film created a pan-India sensation with its strong folk culture, devotion, and rural setting, and also brought Rishab recognition at international platforms. After gaining stardom through the Kantara franchise, he has reportedly agreed to act in two big Telugu projects, attracting the attention of top Tollywood production houses.
However, more than the films, Rishab Shetty’s remuneration is becoming a hot topic. Reports say he is asking for a fixed payment of around ₹80 crore per film and is not interested in profit-sharing deals, which producers usually prefer. His first Telugu film will be Jai Hanuman, directed by Prashanth Varma and produced by Mythri Movie Makers. Another Telugu project under Sithara Entertainments, directed by Ashwin Gangaraju, is also said to be in the pipeline. With pre-production work moving fast, it remains to be seen whether producers will agree to his high fee or see it as a challenge.
